About the Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards 2016
ASRA cover 15 categories including Asia’s Best Sustainability Report, Best Integrated Report, Best Sustainability Report (SME), Best First Time Sustainability Report, Best Online Sustainability Report and Best CSR Report within Annual Report. Other award categories include specialised areas of reporting, such as environment, carbon disclosure, stakeholder engagement, supply chain sustainability, corporate communication and community commitment. The best overall submission will be named Asia’s Sustainability Report of the Year award.
The Awards are open to all types and sizes of private, public and non-profit organisations in all sectors who report on sustainability for their operations and business in Asia.
The overall winner of Asia’s Best Sustainability Report last year was Hang Lung Properties, Hong Kong. Other top category winners for 2015 included Commercial Bank of Ceylon, Sri Lanka (Best Integrated Report), Omnicom Media Group MENA, Dubai and ACWA Power, Dubai (Joint winners of Best First Time Sustainability Report), ADFIAP Philippines (Best Sustainability Report-SME), Orient Overseas Container Line, Hong Kong (Best CSR Communication within Annual Report) and Birla Carbon (Best Online CSR Communication and the Most Transparent Report award).
An independent panel of judges with distinguished backgrounds in academia and business will judge the entries to decide the winners. A short-list of finalists will be announced in mid-October and the winners will be announced at the ASRA presentation dinner event in Singapore in November.
ASRA is a non-profit multi-stakeholder initiative organised by csrmatters, a unit of CSRWorks, which is a leading sustainability advisory firm operating in Singapore and the region.
After a very encouraging start in 2015, when ASRA attracted entries from 13 countries or territories, the awards have become the professional benchmark for sustainability reporting excellence in Asia.
The man who launched Asia’s first sustainability report awards, Rajesh Chhabara, Managing Director of CSRWorks, sees that ASRA has already created a much needed platform for sharing best practices, bench marking, mutual sharing and peer learning by bringing together organisations who are leading the way in sustainability reporting in Asia.
“The awards also give organisations large and small the opportunity to showcase their sustainability efforts, thereby building trust among their stakeholders, adding value to their businesses and attracting socially responsible investors,” Mr Chhabara said.
Interested organisations may submit their entries by the early bird deadline of 30 June 2016 or by the final deadline of 15 September 2016. An organisation may submit entries to multiple categories.
